Supreme Court dismisses Atiku’s appeal, affirms Tinubu’s election

The Supreme Court ultimately rejected the appeal brought forth by Atiku Abubakar, the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), challenging President Bola Tinubu’s election.

The seven-member panel dismissed the appeal on the grounds of lacking merit after it ruled in favor of the respondents on all seven issues presented for consideration.

Justice John Okoro, delivering the main judgment, subsequently upheld the decision of the presidential election tribunal, which had previously confirmed Tinubu’s election as President on September 6.

“On the whole, there is no merit in this appeal, and it is hereby dismissed.

“The judgment of the court below is hereby affirmed,” Okoro held.
