Kano guber a grenade, must be handled with utmost care – Shehu Sani

Former Kaduna Lawmaker, Senator Shehu Sani is advising prudence in dealing with the current legal proceedings regarding the Kano State governorship election.

He has asserted that the Court of Appeal’s Certified True Copy (CTC) judgment circulating unequivocally upholds the triumph of the incumbent Governor.

The Court of Appeal sitting in Abuja had upheld the decision of the Kano State election petition tribunal, which nullified the victory of Abba Yusuf of the New Nigeria People’s Party, NNPP.

The three-member panel, led by Justice Moore Adumein, declared Nasiru Gawuna of the All Progressives Congress, APC, as the rightful winner of the 18 March governorship election in the State.

Reacting to this in a post on X, he wrote, “Kano: the Court of Appeal CTC judgement in circulation clearly affirmed the victory of the serving Governor.

“The Kano matter is a grenade and the pin must be handled with the utmost care. Our democracy cannot survive when political interests override our moral and constitutional obligations to uphold the cause and the tenets of justice.”
