OAU student lands in hospital after completing hand wash-a-thon for Guinness World Records

Subair Enitan, a 200-level student at Obafemi Awolowo University in Ile-Ife, Osun state, has been hospitalized after successfully completing a 58-hour hand wash-a-thon. Enitan initiated the challenge on the afternoon of Friday, November 24, at the Student Union Building Motor park within the University campus, with a large gathering of students showing their support. Her goal was to establish a record for the longest individual hand cloth washing, having applied to the Guinness World Record for the task in June.

Throughout the duration of the challenge, various student artists and University officials visited the pavilion to express solidarity and encourage her to achieve victory. Enitan surpassed her initial plan of 50 hours, completing the 58-hour marathon on Monday. Following this accomplishment, she was transported to the institution’s clinic in the School Ambulance for a medical check.

Before heading to the clinic, Enitan expressed her satisfaction at having completed the task, particularly in the presence of her mother, Omogbolabo Afolake, who had been present at the venue for over two days.
