Detention: Nnamdi Kanu sacks legal team

Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, has dismissed his legal team following an unsuccessful attempt to secure his release from continued detention. According to a source, the decision to change the legal representation was conveyed formally to the former team led by a Senior Advocate of Nigeria.

Kanu has now approached another legal luminary from Cross River State to handle his legal matters. The move reportedly stems from Kanu’s dissatisfaction with his previous legal team, believing they didn’t do enough to quash his case or improve his conditions in detention. He also expressed unhappiness with his medical team for not providing a compelling medical report to facilitate his transfer to private doctors outside Nigeria.
