I had my own lucrative Business before being appointed Minister – Malami writes Buhari

The Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami has written to President Muhammadu Buhari, explaining his wealth following calls for his removal over corruption allegations.

In the letter he wrote to the president, he explained that he already had a lucrative business before he was appointed Minister, adding that he listed 27 properties in his asset declaration form submitted to the Code of Conduct Bureau.
“Among other things, I owned lucrative business ventures of Rayhaan Hotels and Rayhaan Food & Drinks, both in Kano, since December 13, 2013, years before the 2015 election that saw to the victory of President Muhamadu Buhari as the President and long before I was appointed to be a Minister in the first term,” he said.
The AGF, who has been under scrutiny following accusation made against him by the suspended Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Ibrahim Magu said the law “does not preclude me from gaining the fruit of my establishments.”
He also disclosed that he has commenced legal action against people who made the allegations against him.

  1. Though, you may have your own lucrative business but it baffles me when people acquired billion of naira properties when we have those who can’t afford to eat 3 time in a day. Can you explain/account how you acquired those 27 properties you are talking about? If you have your own wealth it doesn’t amount to be spending lavishly. May God help me.

  2. Spending something like #300 million naira is somehow not good enough, even you can still have charity organization in order to help the needy in our society. Acquired 27 properties it’s not what we need but impact you made when have this wealth is Paramount.

  3. Be yourself, don’t change being you for anyone, if they don’t like you for who you are then they don’t deserve to be in your life. You are you and you can’t be anyone different.just make more money then.

    This matter is hard o settle..o
    Someone can have assets truly making huge money from them no someone can still have personal streams of income and still loot from the government coffers
    It now depends on the president to investigate him thoroughly to know the actual truth
