“Nigerians are unhappy and disappointed” – Wike criticizes senate over confirmation of ex-service chiefs as ambassadors
Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike has expressed disappointment in the confirmation of the immediate past service chiefs as ambassadors by the senate following the President’s nomination.
Wike in a statement issued on Wednesday February 24, said Nigerians are unhappy and disappointed over the Senate’s decision to confirm the sacked Service chiefs for another position after the senate agreed with Nigerians about their poor services before they were sacked.
According to Wike their Nominations were confirmed due to Party sentiments and bias. He also urged the legislators to always carry out their duties bearing in mind that their service is not to their parties but to Nigerians.
He said;
“Nigerians are disappointed with the national assembly for confirming sacked service chiefs as ambassadors. I wonder why senators who agreed with Nigerians when they decried the poor performance of the service chiefs, will sit to clear them for another appointment.
“Let me use this opportunity to express the dismay of most Nigerians to the senate. Convey this to the senate. We must be courageous in whatever we are doing. Everything must not be party affairs.
“You (senators) sat and discussed that they should dismiss the service chiefs. You said they’re not performing. Now, the same people who were not performing, you have confirmed them as ambassadors. What kind of country are we?”
This matter tire me, we don’t have senate Sha, what we have is called rubber stamp Individuals whose agenda is there pockets and party not Nigerians
that is true cuz they were the cause of insecurities in this country…..
We have already have it in mind that whatever president buhari forwarded to the NASS will surely be approved without proper scrutinize.
Are they the only one in the country? This 9th assembly are just rubber stamp.
