Wike was my staff, I can’t bring myself low with a response – Amaechi

Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, says he cannot bring himself low to respond to Governor Nyesom Wike’s recent allegation.

Wike had recently accused the federal government of protecting Amaechi from being prosecuted for purportedly misappropriating funds from the sales of some of the state’s assets.

He said that Amaechi sold a property of Rivers for $308 million but only accounted for $208,000 from the sales of the state-owned power plant when he was Rivers Governor.

Reacting to this on Arise TV, Amaechi said: “I don’t think I want to address the issue of the governor. I have made my point, I have moved on.

“Wike was my staff, I cannot bring myself low. I was a governor. I was also a Speaker, I’m a Minister. I was a two-term chairman of governors’ forum. The same when I was a Speaker. Why should I be discussing about him?, he added
