Hushpuppi: IGP should quickly sack Abba Kyari to save the reputation of the Nigerian Police – Deji Adeyanju

Human Rights activist, Deji Adeyanju has called on the Inspector General of Police to quickly sack Deputy Commisioner of Police, Abba Kyari and hand him over to Interpol.

He said this following allegations that Abba Kyari is linked with Fraudster, Ramon Abbas also known as Hushpuppi. Abba Kyari was said to have received bribe from Hushpuppi to arrest a disloyal member of their gang in a $1.1milliom fraud deal.

Reacting to this, Deji Adeyanju described the development as a huge embarrassment to the Nigerian Police Force as he sought the IGP to do the needful and save the reputation of the force.

He said;

“It is a huge embarrassment for the country. This has further damaged the reputation of the Nigerian Police — the reputation that they have been struggling and battling with for years. It shows that the Nigerian Police is an enabler of fraud, corruption.

“The Inspector-General of Police must quickly rise to the occasion by sacking Abba Kyari immediately and handing him over to Interpol so that he can go and face trial in the United States of America.

“Actions like this have consequences and we must not support bad behaviour. This is why the Inspector General of Police and the entire Nigeria Police Force must wash their hands clean of the Abba Kyari issue so as to save the image and reputation of the Nigeria Police Force.
