Shehu Sani, a former Senator representing Kaduna Central, has issued a warning to Nigerians regarding the N8,000 palliative offered by President Bola Tinubu’s administration.

Sani advised Nigerians to pray before accepting the N8,000 from Tinubu’s administration, citing the negative outcome experienced by those who received the “jazzed” N10,000 during former President Muhammadu Buhari’s tenure, which ultimately led them into deeper poverty.

In a tweet, Sani expressed, “People who collected Buhari’s ‘jazzed’ 10k ended up in deeper poverty. Pray before you collect the next 8k.”

Tinubu recently unveiled plans to provide N8,000 to 12 million impoverished households in the country. This initiative aims to transfer the money to underprivileged Nigerians within the upcoming six months.

The president’s proposal was outlined in a letter to the House of Representatives concerning a $800 million loan request by the Buhari administration for the social safety net program. Tinubu urged the House of Representatives to secure the loan.
