Insecurity: “It’s time to scrap this idea” – Kate Henshaw tells FG after eight NYSC members were abducted in Zamfara

Nigerian Actress, Kate Henshaw has called on the Federal Government to discontinue the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) program due to the worsening insecurity situation.

Referring to the recent abduction of eight NYSC members in Zamfara State, Henshaw shared her thoughts on Twitter, suggesting that as the safety of Corps members can no longer be assured, it’s time to end the program.

She urged the government to refrain from endangering the lives of young individuals by clinging to outdated ideas.

She wrote, “When I served in the North, it was a very memorable experience. Travelling from Bauchi by road to the airport was safe & then flying to Lagos just with my NYSC ID card, which also got me rebate on my ticket.

“It’s time to scrap this idea since corpers can’t travel within this country without let or hindrance!

“Stop putting the lives of young people at risk with moribund ideas. Security is a priority & needs to be sorted totally, not technically.”
