FCT to reintroduce monthly sanitation to keep Abuja clean – Wike 

Mr. Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja, has revealed that the ministry has finalized its plans to reintroduce monthly sanitation as a key strategy to maintain the city’s cleanliness. Wike made this announcement in Abuja on Monday, following a private meeting with contractors responsible for various projects within the FCT.

He mentioned that he had already discussed the concept with President Bola Tinubu, proposing that at least two Saturdays each month would be designated for sanitation activities from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. This initiative aims to facilitate companies assisting the FCT with logistics in their efforts to manage waste disposal in markets and other public spaces. Wike emphasized that achieving cleanliness in Abuja requires the collective cooperation of everyone.
