Mohbad: Appreciate, help me while I’m still alive – Portable

Habeeb Okikiola, a controversial Nigerian musician known as Portable, has called upon his fans and fellow artists to acknowledge and appreciate him while he is alive. The Zazoo crooner made these remarks in response to the widespread attention following the passing of the rapper Mohbad on Tuesday.

Following Mohbad’s demise, his music and projects surged in popularity on digital streaming platforms both in Nigeria and internationally.

Reacting to this, Portable criticized his peers and fans for not sufficiently supporting and endorsing Mohbad during his lifetime. In a video posted on his Instagram page, the singer expressed his desire to receive recognition and admiration while he is still alive. He emphasized that he does not desire the insincere affection that is being expressed for Mohbad after his passing.

Portable said, “You guys didn’t post Mohbad on social media when he was alive, but the moment he died, you all started streaming his music and posting his pictures.

“Please, appreciate me while I’m still alive. Make una dey celebrate people na. Na bad news una dey post.

“Help me while I’m still alive. Motivate me. Appreciate me. Celebrate me while I’m still alive. Please, listen to my music, dance to my songs, download my songs. Not when I die, then you will now start streaming my songs.”
