The young Widow of Mohbad visited us to seek support in pursuing justice for her late husband – Femi Falana

Femi Falana, a human rights lawyer and Senior Advocate of Nigeria, has verified that Omowunmi, the wife of the late singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, widely known as Mohbad, approached him to advocate for justice regarding her husband’s passing. Mohbad tragically passed away on September 12, 2023, in circumstances shrouded in mystery, and was laid to rest the following day.

In the wake of his demise, there have been widespread calls for a thorough investigation to uncover the events surrounding his sudden death. Falana, speaking with Punch, confirmed Mohbad’s wife visited his office seeking assistance to pursue justice for her late husband. Additionally, he mentioned meeting with Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Idowu Owohunwa, who assured him that an investigation had been initiated.

“The young widow of Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, also known as Mohbad, visited our office yesterday (Tuesday) to seek support in pursuing justice for her late husband. While sympathising with her and the entire Aloba family, we assured her of our unalloyed commitment to ensure that the circumstances of the unfortunate death of the Nigerian rapper, singer, and songwriter were unearthed. Thereafter, we held a meeting with the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Mr Idowu Owohunwa, in respect of the investigation being conducted by the police in respect of the matter. The CP furnished me with the progress made so far in the investigation.
