“I wake up when I like and I come out when I like” – Buhari speaks on life after presidency

Former President Muhammadu Buhari has discussed his post-presidential life after handing over governance to Bola Ahmed Tinubu on May 29, 2023.

Having served eight years, he promptly returned to his hometown, Daura in Katsina State. Buhari shared insights about his administration and life after the presidency during an appearance on the Nigerian Television Authority.

He mentioned engaging in farming upon his return, emphasizing its dual role as both a productive activity and a form of exercise for him.

“I looked for it and I thank God I got it,” Buhari said when asked how his life has been after leaving the Presidential Villa.

“I came back to my birthplace and now I go to the farm. I go round the farm.

“I see animals and my stores. There’s a big market on the border…so I’ve programmed myself so nicely. I wake up when I like and I come out when I like.”
