If Wike believes he is above this party, we will show him he is not above this party – PDP

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has announced its intention to take disciplinary action against the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Nyesom Wike, for allegedly undermining the party. The Acting National Chairman, Umar Damagum, revealed this during a press conference in Abuja.

The decision was prompted by the conflict between Wike and Governor Siminalayi Fubara in Rivers State, resulting in the defection of 25 PDP lawmakers to the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the resignation of seven commissioners. The dispute, centered on control of political structures and finances in the state, led to a peace accord signed by Wike and Fubara under the intervention of President Bola Tinubu.

He said: “We are not unmindful of the fact that it’s not only Wike; there are other people that have also worked against his party.

“When we get to that level, we will sanction everybody. If Wike believes he is above this party, we will show him he is not above this party.”
