”You won’t be relocated from DSS custody to Kuje Prison” – Court says as it refuses to grant Nnamdi Kanu bail

For the second occasion, the Federal High Court in Abuja has declined the request to transfer the detained Biafra agitator, Nnamdi Kanu, from the Department of State Services (DSS) custody to Kuje prison in Abuja.

Justice Binta Nyako, in rejecting the second application on Tuesday, stated that the DSS facility remained the most secure location for the detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).

The Judge reiterated that the court had previously denied the request to move Kanu out of DSS custody, suggesting that his only recourse was to pursue an appeal at the Court of Appeal to challenge the earlier decision.

“Go to the Court of Appeal and ask that my earlier order rejecting to remove Kanu from DSS custody to Kuje prison be set aside. That is the only option opened up to you now.

“I have delivered 21 rulings in this matter, most of them in favour of the defendant. If my orders are not obeyed, you know what to do. Have you ever come before this court and complained about orders not being obeyed?” The Judge held.
