Katsina Abduction: Those using our children as pawns must be held accountable – Okonjo-Iweala tells FG

Former Minister of Finance, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala has reacted to the abduction of over 300 boys from the Government Science Secondary School, Kankara, Katsina State.

The former Minister in a tweet she shared via her Twitter handle on Tuesday described the abduction as heartbreaking and urged the Federal Government to do everything possible to bring back the abducted schoolboys.

She wrote:

“The abduction of more than 300 schoolboys in Katsina is heartbreaking. What a recurring nightmare. My heart goes out to the families of the missing boys. The authorities must do all possible to #BringBackOurBoys! Those using our children as pawns must be held accountable!”

  1. The security of this country has now become what anybody can toy with, in 2014 it was chibok girls, in 2016 or 2017 it was dapchi girls and now 2020 it is kankara boys, may Almighty God come to our rescue.

  2. The present government doesn’t value the lives of her citizens because if they do, they would have find solution to kidnapping, killing and other sorts of insecurities in the country.

  3. This government has failed us totally on the security issues of the nation. They perform below expectations, we don’t expect this from us, they really disappoint us.

  4. This another person children, something must be done on the issue of abducting secondary school students, this is becoming unbearable. Something urgent must be done.

  5. That is all we end up hearing each time calamities of this nature takes place in this country
    They condemn and they talk, but no action
    It continues to happen unabated and the government of the day seems not to care or even listen to what people say
    There are no body either to force them to listen and do the needful
