“It is unsafe to Reopen Varsities now due to absence of Covid-19 guidelines” – ASUU
The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has advised that universities are not ready for safe reopening due to the upcoming second wave of the Coronavirus pandemic and lack of guidelines.
The branches came to this conclusion after assessing COVID-19 protocols in the universities.
In separate interviews with ThePUNCH, the chapters of the union commented on the directive of the National Universities Commission that universities could resume on January 18, but must adhere to COVID-19 protocols in hostels and lecture halls.
The union stated that although its members were ready to start work, the government had not put measures in place for the safe reopening of the schools.
It’s very true o, because this new wave of Covid-19 is dangerous , university has both rich and poor people. For there safety let them stay home or do online lectures
Unsafe to the core because of all this interstate traveling and also because there is no proper protocol for students to follow….
Most of the blame are from the government they will just be giving directive without putting any measures in place, they just want to put the blame on the ASUU.
I don’t know what is wrong with this administration they are the one to make law and also the one to go against it, this is bad of this administration.
If the university can make a provision without collecting additional charges from the students it would have better, the university should not put the burden on the students.
ASUU!!! Are you not going to allow the students to resume to the the school in order to allow them to complete their academic session in this year, it’s better to do something about it.
Please reopen schools and let every school role out their own covid19 guidelines. this students have stayed home far too long. Waiting for this clueless Brain dead government is unnecessary. They don’t care. Their children are abroad schooling
